I have recently published a web site called “I refuse to participate in a recession”. At the time of writing this it is November, 2008. The whole global economic outlook is currently looking fairly grim. The world, attitudes, values ..., just about everything is changing. The USA has just elected its first ever Afro-American president. As recently as 20 to 30 years ago, no-one would have thought that would have been possible.
Times may be tough, but there are always opportunities for entrepreneurs. In fact there are numerous success stories of those who have done well during recessions ..., during the great depression even. The Reserve Bank and the Australian government have recently taken steps to encourage spending to keep the economy buoyant.
None of us lives long enough to discover everything for ourselves. It is important that we listen to, and act upon the wisdom of others. I have collected quotes from many philosophers and others. I have published a couple of web sites with these quotes, and links to those sites are on the Links page of this web site. One of those quotes is from another American, George S. Patton. He once said, “take calculated risks. That is quite different from being rash.”
In another lifetime it seems, I was a teacher. I taught in Primary, Secondary and Special schools, and in Tertiary institutes. I was on a Primary school campus one year when the Public Works Department came into the school and completely demolished an adventure playground which was only a few years old. They apparently did the same at every other school in the State. Those in charge apparently did not want to risk any potential litigation because little Johnny or Mary may fall from the climbing frame and break an arm!
Isn’t it sad? Sure I believe in workplace health and safety, but should we be trying to remove all potential risks from everything we do?
Risk taking is a part of living. If we take no risks at all, then we are not really living.
Another quote from a Japanese businessman Sachiro Honda, the founder of the Honda Motor Corporation. He is quoted as saying, “success is 90% failure.” And the great Chinese philosopher, Confucius, “our greatest glory is not in never falling but in rising every time we fall.”
Not many people achieve success without considerable effort. “Success is the good fortune that comes from aspiration, desperation, perspiration and inspiration.” (Evan Esar)
If you have read this fair, I think it would be fair to assume that you have an entrepreneurial nature. What program or programs are you currently working on? Are you being successful with them? If you are truly an entrepreneur, even if you have successfully developed some programs, you will no doubt want to develop them some more or start new ones even.
Do you like me daily receive e-mails about schemes that will make you rich working just five minutes a day? If anyone has from any of these schemes, they are the exception, not the rule.
And all of those so called “free” sites! Once they get you involved with that “free” carrot, you will nearly always find that some considerable investment is required in order to make any possible substantial income.
In tough economic times, people want products and services that are:
- perceived as being desirable
- relatively inexpensive
- user friendly
I have found a product and a service that meet these three criteria. I would like to share it with you. But I want to refer you to two of my other web sites. Please click on the links below, and then come back here for a special offer that I have for you. I am following George Patton’s advice ..., I am taking a calculated risk ..., I am freely giving something valuable away, based on what I believe the future scenario will be.
As St. Clement of Alexandra once said, “If you do not hope, you will not find what is beyond your hopes.”

OK, if you have browsed both of those sites, you will have an understanding of what I believe is going to be a successful business for those with “aspiration, desperation, perspiration and inspiration”.
Click on the link Ian’s Offer to go to a new page and I shall explain to you what I am offering.
